USA...Day 14

New York, New York!!!

As my lovely little sister explained yesterday we have FINALLY arrived in New Jersey and have met this distant family that my Granny used to talk so highly about. And they have lived up to expectations! :P Alan and Gayle are fab and their home is lovely!

Today they took us in to New York City! We got the ferry over from new jersey over the Hudson. we then walked up 48th street and eventually hit Broadway and Times Square (took lots of pictures!) we then headed back up towards the empire state building and went right up yo the 87th floor. What s view! We walked around for. Bit, took some pics and got the elevator back down!! The amount of different types of stunning views we have seen this holiday so far has been fantastic! From the beautiful architecture of Boston and DC to thr lush forestry of Maine to the stunning New York Skyline! I find it very difficult to choose which i liked the most! The empire state building was fantastic and i felt like i was walking through the set of s 1930s movie (if i had removed everyone else) with the stunning architecture and the music that set the scene brilliantly. I could also have been in one of the many movies or TV shows that had been filmed up there, all of which flashed through my mind as we walked around the viewing gallery up there on the 87th floor. (Gossip Girl and Sleepless in Seattle being some of those)

After the empire state building though we went and searched for a place to eat. catriona and I were quite keen to see Maceys so we ate at the Grill in there before having a quick look around (and i mean VERY quick because SOME of us [catriona] could have spent all day there and spent a lot of money [on dads credit card] :) We also visited Victorias secret and bought some perfumes and also a couple other wee shops on our way to Grand Central Station (which by the way felt a LOT smaller then it looks on tv!!)

We then got the bus back to the ferry, the ferry only took 8 minutes to cross the Hudson then a quick 25 min car journey back to New Providence. I had to have a wee nap when i got back as i was exhausted and had a bit of a headache, but next thing i know im waking up to the sound of laughing children in the next room!! Alan and Gayles daughter and her family came over to visit and boy were they fun and full of energy. The rest of the evening was spent playing UNO and old Maid with them and Gayle and chatting to Diane and her husband who were all very lovely and fun! :) needless to say though i am sufficiently knackered and ill spell check this post  tomorrow :P

Goodnight
