USA... Day 16

First of all a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wee sister who turned 16 on Wednesday! :D and secondly I'm sorry I'm so late in posting the last couple of days blog posts! I've been pretty busy since Wednesday.... so i guess I'll go back and start there.

We got to sleep in untill 9:30 and since it was Catrionas birthday Gayle made pancakes and bacon with maple syrup :D it was yummmm!!  We then headed to the ferry that took us to the Statue of Liberty :D It was a fab day ,even though it was a bit windy (which sucked cause Catriona and I wore skirts!!) so it was a lovely ferry ride over to the island. We passed Ellis island which was still closed from the storm flooding damage but ill add some photos I took from the ferry :)

The Statue of Liberty was also out of bounds but this was because we had to book tickets online waaaayyy in advance, so unfortunately we weren't able to climb the inside of the statue either. We were however able to walk around be island that the statue is sitting on and I managed to get some good pics there. We had a quick snack before heading back on the ferry.

In the afternoon Gayle and  Alan took us all shipping (ok Gayle and mum took Catriona and I shopping while Dad and Alan sat outside and talked till we were done) First we went to forever 21 then to one of the only shops Catriona wanted to go to over there.... Target. Oddball... :P but it was good and she wasn't disappointed leaving with a bag fill of bargains :)

In the evening (which was mum dad and Catrionas last night in the states) we had a lovely dinner prepared for us by Alan and Gayle. We then met another of their daughters, Kim, and her family so  again it was awesome meeting all the cousins we had never met before! Needless to say we all got on like a house on for and we were all absolutely shattered by the time bed time arrived! Another night filled with fun, Ice cream cake and UNO! What more could Catriona have asked for on her 16th birthday! :)
