USA ... Day 12

Washington DC
Good evening :) It's been a much cooler and more bearable day today with humidity dropping from 85 to about 60 Fahrenheit! This has made walking about much easier and we don't seem to be half as tired as we have been the last couple of days. After a slow start we got the subway into downtown and headed to the Capitol for a tour. We ended up spending about 3 hours between the exhibition and the food court there. That was all that we had scheduled for today so the rest of the day was just a go-with-the-flow kind of day :) We checked out the Native American Indian Museum followed by a snack at Starbucks. The Native American Indian building had some of the best architecture I've seen all week with some amazing curved walks and well executed displays within the exhibition space. (Pics to follow)

After our wee snack at lunchtime we headed up towards the international Spy museum which was AWESOME!!!! Catriona, dad and I especially LOVED everything to be found in there, which included a special exhibition on James Bond and Bond Villans. Mum also found some stuff that interested her though such as the world war II time espionage and Bletchley Park. I personally loved it all. From real life espionage to Ames that tested your ability as a spy, to the pop culture in modern day spy stories. There was really something for everyone.

We spent about 4 hours there before heading to find somewhere to eat dinner. While back tracking towards the mall we found this brilliant Texan restaurant called 'The Hill Country'. I think we ate about half a pig worth of meat between us with a variety of beef, pork, chicken and bbw ribs. We then finished of with a pecan pie which is apparently a Texan speciality and yummyyyy wasn't it good!! I also don't remember when so many different beers have been consumed, cause we seem to all try a different beer to begin with then why stop at just tasking 3 of the local beers?!? Haha is I bad that I can't wait for wee C to be able to drink so that she can join in with the beer drinking and we can try even more beers!?! :P

anyway of to bed as we will have an early morning tomorrow as we start making our way up to New Jersey! :D yaaayyy Really quite excited to finally be meeting our cousins from across the water :D

Good night troops
Fiona xx
