USA - Day 8

Bar Harbor, Maine

We had a lovely slow day today even through we had an early start. We seem to have gotten into a routine of being awake before 8 (well Catriona and i anyway) which is odd considering that we are on holiday. Mum and dad headed off early for a talk at the local university with Ron while C and I waited at the house a bit longer and grabbed one of the free buses into Bar Harbor and had a walk about the shops in town. It's a brilliant wee town and the weather was fantastic today making it even better. we had an Ice cream and sat on the village green as we waited for mum and dad to arrive.

Mum and dad came and met up with us at the village green late morning and we went back around the shops we liked and popped into a couple that mum and dad wanted to see (bookshops and jewelry stores) The rest of the afternoon was spent chilling at the house, catching a bit of sun on the deck, reading and catching up on our wee blog.

Dinner was a first for us both though! We had Maine LOBSTER! Ron picked up fresh lobsters from a local fisherman and cooked it up for us and oh BOY was it YUMMY!! Messy but delicious and perfectly cooked! Catriona and i had never eaten Lobster before and so we also had a lesson from Ron as to how to eat it properly! :)
